“Hold On The Memory”, Sofja Bolshakova

Summary

‘Hold On The Memory’ is the sad story of a refugee living in a big city with a high quality of life, but who still feels lonely because he has lost all of his family members. I find it very painful to even imagine such a scenario. I heard this story from someone when I was working in a refugee centre last year. The person asked me not to mention his name, because he is still waiting to receive citizenship in Estonia. When I asked other refugees to tell me their stories, they agreed, but at the same time most of their stories had extremely sad endings…
